Tomatoes and onion 4X6 watercolor hot press

sold
Another watercolor on the hot press paper. Since I’m so new at watercolor, I need to get another sheet of this paper I’m down to only two more 4 x 6 pieces. It is different from the cold press and I have not used the rough yet. I also have one watercolor canvas that I have not tried yet. Any one out there used one. How did you like it?

White pumpkins 4x6 watercolor hot press

Matted $60.00

Last Sunday is spent the day reading several blog’s of people I came across by looking at the painting a day blog site. I have to admit to being an internet junkie and have a hard time turning it off. One site leads to another and before I know it, the day is gone or it’s two in the morning. In addition, to learning new things there are a few chuckles along the way. What I’m getting at is I found this site called different strokes for different folks put on by Karin Jurick. Her work by the way is just beautiful at her personal blog.
However, what I like about this site is you have one week to do an interpretation of the picture put forth. Therefore, for my first attempt here are white pumpkins. Please see the link to the side and enjoy all the great work.

Old store 2006 14x17 pen and ink

Giclee Print 14X17 $75.00
Matted $100.00

This is from an old black and white photo I got from eBay. It is of a store in north AL. and looks like some I saw when I was a child as my grandfather was a coal mind in north AL. Also one of my older ones done in 2006 14 x17 pen and ink

Almost finished with my house for my commission and I spent all day yesterday looking for our escaped cat little Stinker and boy is he one. Of course looking at him it would not hurt him to miss a meal. We even slept with our front door open hoping he would come up on the front porch. He has a big meow and we though we would here him. Moreover, it was cool last night he is an inside cat and used to sleeping with us. Well there he was this morning and the first thing he did was run to the food bowl.

Hawk 14 x17 pen and ink

Giclee print 14X17 $60.00
Matted $75.00

I was caught up enjoying and laughing at another artist blog and before I knew it, time had flown by. It’s nice when you find some one out there that may be in another part of the country that had some of the same experiences growing up you had. Their reminiscing brings back a flood of memories form your wild and crazy days. (Thanks Mark for the trip down memory lane.)
So I thought I would post one of my earlier works as I have to get to work, deadlines are coming up so you may see a few of my older stuff.
This is one of my pen and ink. At a wildlife show, I was able to get close enough to a hawk to get a good picture.

Bessie the Cow 5x7 acrylic

Framed $100.00

Sold
I’m working on a large commission so it may be a while before I finish it so here is the last small one I have until most likely next week. This is from a picture my hubby took while out on the road. I am assuming it is a girl but any way the calf was just too cute.
I did a smaller one in watercolor as an ACEO card.
Just a note I stay at home and the TV is on and Martha Stewart has started her new season. What I would not give to have a ride on one of her beautiful horses, they are the horse of my childhood dreams, a big beautiful black horse with long flowing mane.

Red Radishes 7x10

Sold

The other day I was walking threw the grocery store with my hubby and saw these beautiful red radishes across the aisle. I thought what a beautiful painting they would make with the red and green. He asked me what we would do with a bunch of radishes. As it turned out, we made a great dip. The recipe is on his blog Wills kitchen.

Tractor Pull 5 x 8

Hoping I could loosen up but I find myself tightening up. The teachers in school kept trying to drill in us to be loose, be expressive but try as I might it would not come out that way for me. It did not feel natural. So here are a few more of my watercolor studies, I pitched the bad ones.
