Plum Crazy 5x7 oil

This plum was hard to paint as I was wanting to eat it. Funny how time just slips by when you are painting and next thing you know its 2 hours past lunch.

One Plum oil 5x6

This is my first plum I have ever painted. I'm really getting into painting the fruit I don't have to worry about it walking away only being eaten when I get hungry. This also pushes me to finish it before the fruit dries up and turns into a prune.

Watermelon Wedge 4x6 oil

This is a little 4x6 of a watermelon wedge. I have done several little watemelon pieces and I think I'm getting a little better.

I love the oils and I am having so much fun. I love the smell it brings back memories of when I was a kid and painting the paint by numbers sets my mom got me for Christmas. This one I did in class using a still life set up using some ceramic birds, I just love the little red one.

Bird of Paradise 5x7 acrylic

This is a small colorful acrylic flower. I still can not seem to get a handle on the acrylics they just seem to dry up so fast even using a medium.

I have been going to Hinds for the summer and painting with the new head of the Art department and my bud Lisa. They have been using oils and I just couldn't stand it any more so I ordered me some oil paint and will take painting II this fall.

Swallow 5x7 acrylic

This is a familiar sight often here in the country. The swallows dart in and out after a juicy little bug. We did get a little rain the other day so every thing has greened up a little but today its back to the heat.

This is a little 5x7 acrylic of some pink cone flowers. It has been so hot here that most everything has stopped blooming but these guys are hanging on.
