Hand Painted Christmas Ball of Snickers

Well 2009 has started with a very stuffy head and chest cold. Today is the first day that I have felt human. Here is my last Christmas Ball I did it was of my friend Lisa’s little dog Snickers.
I did have a good month it appears at Petersons Art’s and Antiques I was able to sale 5 items.
Now I have to get busy and do some more to place there. The Quick Draw in Hattiesburg is coming up at the end of the month so I have to put my thinking cap on as to what I can do in an hour. More on that in another post

Hand painted Christmas Ball Boots

$15.00

I have been soooooooo busy this past week and this one also. I have not even sent my Christmas Cards out yet and I have to do it today.
In one week, I painted 22 Christmas balls this included sanding and then putting on gesso and then painting them. They are plastic Christmas balls so they will not break.
I really enjoyed the boots here for the Different Strokes for Different folks challenge this go around. Since I have been painting Christmas balls I did the challange on one.
I really would like to do the end of the year challenge but I will be out of town and do not think I could do justice in the time I would have to painting of a person.

Hand painted Christmas tree ornament of a cat

Here is first for me a Christmas tree ornament. The VAA was asked by Mr. David who has the Martha Vick House in Vicksburg. He has a cat called Orangie Louise and wanted to have a Christmas tree for her with ornaments with her on them. I was afraid It would never be done after being very careful with the glass ball I was given I was getting ready to photograph it when disaster hit. I dropped it and it shattered to pieces. I tried to paint on two of the balls I had from home and they were much thinner ant two broke in my hand. Hubby saved the day, went to the store, and found some plastic ones and I was able to do it all over a gain. Therefore, here is my second one that did make it to the blog. It was kind of fun.
(By the way, this little house is packed with history. http://www.marthavickhouse.com/
Please go see if you are ever in the area.)
