Pisces... Holly Cessna 1989-2012

I did this piece for Will's niece Holly for Christmas it is another cheese box.
She passed peacefully away at home on Jan 6. She was a cancer survivor.
Words can not express the loss of a child at any age. My prayers go out to her parents and close friends.
I read a book a long time ago that brings me comfort at times like this and this is one of the quotes in it.
Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished: If you are alive, it isn't. (Illusions by Richard Bach)
Holly's mission was completed and went gently home. She will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Nemo

I can't tell you how much fun this one was painting. My great niece(is that the correct term my niece's daughter is 2 1/2) Rebecca knew who Nemo was and she was so cute when she recognized him.

Again this was a cheese box 14 inches and done in acrylic. She is a cancer so I added the little crab and I like seahorses. I just love the bright colors.

Princess and the Frog 14 inches round

My husband has a co worker that gave him some cheese boxes and I did paint on some a few years ago for a guy that was a wild life theme of a turkey and duck.
To thank him for the boxes I painted one for his little girl of the princess and the frog.

Vase of Blue Flowers Pop

Another in my Flower Pop series. This one is larger and in a vase. This is a donation for the Jackson Free Press’s Chick Ball on July 19 proceeds to benefit the Center for Violence Prevention. They liked my Pop series. Therefore, I gave them a choice of three to choose from my blue flower pop and the cheetah and the one I just completed. They chose this one.

Blue Flower Pop

Well I am grooving with a blast from the past with the Steve Miller Band on PBS. My Hubby and I are watching and reliving old times. When did we get old? In a nod to the past, here is my Blue Flower Pop.

Retro series Here comes the Sun 5 x 7 acrylic

a

Lisa’s picture was well received, so this has spawned a series of what I am calling my Retro series. Normally I am a high key painter. (Most of my paintings are soft muted in color.) These new paintings are 5 x7 and are using bold color in a sixties feel. This past weekend I worked on several and have five completed at this time so I will be listing them here a few at a time.
